Blackberry Curve 8330 is awesome

The Blackberry Curve 8330 from Sprint is an awesome mobile device.  It is so much more than a phone with so many available apps, it is simply amazing.

Themes: Change out the theme of the phone as often as you like.  What's a theme?  It's the look of the background and the application buttons.  Have a favorite movie, comic book character, or hobby?  Chances are there is a theme of it available for your Blackberry. 

Apps: The Sprint version is loaded with applications, and as of todayBlackberry opens their online app store.  Here's one for you, the google app is super fast to search and google maps works awesome on the Blackberry Curve 8330.

Search for a restaurant using the google app, and click on the phone number in the search results to call the restaurant.  It's that easy.

Use the google maps app and do a local search for a business name, and it shows you all of the local locations.  Click on it and you can map a route or call the business.  It's way awesome.   I used this to track down a video I needed to rent from a BlockBuster.  Search, click, call, find out which location has that video, and then it maps a route from where I am to the video store I need to get to.

Sprint TV is awesome.  Full episodes are available from all of the major television networks.  Great stuff.

Copy & paste.  This feature is more useful than you will ever know.

HTC and T-Mobile are readying a new version of the G1 Android phone, according to the gadget blog Gizmodo. On Wednesday, Gizmodo posted pictures of what is supposed to be the new Android "G2," which the blog says is expected in May. The new device is much thinner than the previous G1 because its slide keyboard is gone. Instead, HTC has taken a page out of the Apple iPhone playbook and will only offer a virtual keypad.

The Palm Treo Pro is targeted to the enterprise with its black finish and white key highlights. I was hoping the device would have that great soft-touch rubberized matte casing since I find that helps me grip the device and looks more like a business device. The Treo Pro has a glossy black covering and is a major fingerprint magnet with the back looking much like the black iPhone 3G. The device is thinner than all other Treo devices which is a great move by Palm since I think most Treo devices are too thick and chunky. The Treo Pro has a Centro rounded look to it with a similar QWERTY keyboard…. I am considering the Treo Pro since I do enjoy using Windows Mobile devices and the great thing about the Treo Pro is that you can use it like a non-touch screen device yet get all the power and functionality of a touch screen device when you need it. The excellent GPS signal acquisition, long battery life, Palm touches like the ringer and WiFi buttons, and standard 3.5mm headset jack are compelling to me.

In an iPhone ad aired in the UK, Apple claims that the iPhone can access "all parts of the Internet," presumably to emphasize the phone's ability to surf the Net almost as well as a desktop. But technically, it's not true -- the iPhone doesn't support Flash or Java. It may be quibbling to some, but it's too far a stretch for the UK's Advertising Standards Authority, which ordered the ad pulled.

Texters rejoice, for Verizon has just introduced the Blitz, a phone made primarily for messaging.

Manufactured by UTStarcom, the Blitz has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard; a dedicated MyMessaging key that will lead you directly to the messaging menu; a 1.3-megapixel camera; a speakerphone; a music player; and even stereo Bluetooth. Even though you can use V Cast Music with Rhapsody for PC downloads and subscriptions, do note that the Blitz does not support over-the-air music downloads, probably because it doesn't have EV-DO support.

I need to replace my Palm Treo 650. Here's what I need. I need the organizing/calendar as well as contacts features. It needs to be a quad-band phone; have a screen similar in size to the Palm 650; a camera so it can record video clips and photos. It also needs to send text messages with photos attached and a QWERTY keyboard.
