Button on iPhone stops working - how I fixed it

The button on my iPhone stopped working intermittently. In frustration mode, I banged the back part of the iPhone opposite of where the button is located on the gear shifter of my car hoping to knock whatever loose connection back into place, and blammo, the iPhone circle home button is working perfectly again.

Just sayin.
