new iphone 4 set up as new iphone or restore from the backup

You get a new iphone 4 as upgrade from your iphone 3GS, and you want all of your apps, pics, songs, texts, and videos from your old iphone to your new iphone.  What should you do?

Make sure that you have the latest version of itunes.

Make sure that you have the latest os version on your iphone 3GS.

Sync and backup the old iphone 3GS.

Connect your new iphone 4 to that same computer.

You will be presented with two options: set up as new iphone or restore from the backup

Choose the restore from the backup option

Be patient and let your computer, itunes, and your iphone do their thing.

All of your apps, pics, songs, texts, and videos from your old iphone will transfer over to your new iphone. 

Yes, it's that easy.
